In this part of Sweden, just close to the glittering see in Oresund you find some of Swedens’ most beautiful gardens, castles and private gardens. We will take you to award winning Sofiero Palace & Garden, Fredriksdals Museum and the exciting renaissance castle Krapperup. We will also visit some green garden pearls and take you across Oresund to Denmark, for visiting Karen Blixen Museum & Garden. Your cicerone on this tour will be Christina Hogardh-Ihr garden author in Sweden and you will stay at 4* Elite Hotel Mollberg in the city center of Helsingborg.

Tour – program
Arrival at Copenhagen Airport where you will meet Christina and your bus coach who will take you to Helsingborg for check-in at Hotel Mollberg. Dinner in the beautiful dining room at the hotel together with your guide.
9.30 a.m. Our bus will take us to Fredriksdal Museum & Garden in Helsingborg where you will find the very old Skåne country life with its green fields, farmhouses, animals and fruit orchards. This is a very special place where you can enjoy, rest a while from the noise of the city and learn about the history of farming in Skåne. Also, a lovely Rosarium, a botanical garden and a landscape garden, café and shops with old-fashioned goods and one of the largest rose nurseries in northern Europe.

Afternoon visit in a lovely private garden in Mölle. Mrs Sylvia Wihlborg and her husband have a fruit farm and Sylvia has also created a beautiful English garden with roses and perennials.
Afternoon tea/coffee & bisquits.
Today we will show the wonderful country garden of Axelvold Manor in the middle of Skåne. Our bus will take you through a beautiful sweeping landscape to a garden created around 1920. Today majestic beech hedges and magnificent roses makes this garden very special. The owner, Mrs Wachtmeister and your guide will show you around the garden.
Coffee/tea and pastries will be served before going to lunch near Malmö.
Afternoon visit in a private rose garden in Falsterbo where the owner, designer Mr David Carlsson has created a rose garden with a lot of English Garden roses.
This day we will take the ferry across Oresund to Denmark where a bus will take us to Rungsted and Karen Blixen Museum.
Karen Blixen loved gardening and flowers and to make extraordinary flower arrangements at her estate Rungstedlund just south of Helsingør, where she was born 1885.
She later on became the famous writer, sometimes under the pseudonym Isak Dinesen. After her marriage to Bror von Blixen-Finecke the couple moved to Kenya where they started a coffee farm. Her famous memoires became the movie “Out of Africa” in 1985 with Meryl Streep and Robert Redford and is based on the years in Kenya, which she left for Denmark 1931. We will have a guided tour in her home and garden.

Afternoon visit in Peter Wibroes famous garden in Holte. This magnificent garden has been created during forty years by the owner, a former business man who decided to leave his work and dedicate his life to his garden. He has found his inspiration in French baroque gardens and Italian renaissance gardens.
Our bus will take you to Krapperup Castle, in Nyhamnsläge, a stately renaissance castle with a beautiful and unique landscape park with old trees, ponds, rippling streams, rhododendrons and flower borders. You will meet the head gardener for a guided tour in the beautiful park.

After lunch we will go with bus alongside Oresund to Sofiero Palace & Garden, Helsingborg, award winning, park originally created by the Royal couple Crown Princess Margaret & Crown Prince Gustav VI Adolf in 1905 – 1920. Crown Princess Margaret was the grand child of Queen Victoria. She was raised at the castle bagshot in England and come to love flowers and gardening already as a child. When she came to Sweden and Sofiero the palace garden consisted of a big lawn and woodland. She transformed the garden and designed several different rooms with flower borders kitchen garden, orchards etc. Her husband was very interested in rhododendrons which were planted in the ravines leading down from the palace to the see.
Christina will guide you in the garden and tell you the story of Margaret & George, later King of Sweden and you will also have a chance to walk on your own for a while before coffee/tea & pastries at the Palace Café & Restaurant.
Leisure time in Helsingborg and free dinner.
